21 year female operated 10 months back at different institute for??Neglected Perthes by uncemeted Bipolar. now complains of persisting hip pain since the day one of surgery..infection markers are normal..what is the cause for hip pain??? How to proceed now??

  Ali Öner It looks like loose stem, not tight. Another cause is acetabulum. It is arthritic, it should be replaced with THR. Bipolar was a bad choice for such young and such severe arthritic patient.

  Ahmad W. Tolba i dont think there is something wrong with the xrays post. op. that would cause pain, although it should have gone through THR not hemiarthroplasty

  Sanjay Joseph The surgery failed because a ridiculous operation has been performed. The hip is out and out arthritic. THR should have been done and still needs to be done. In any case why would anybody want to use a bipolar in such a young patient?!

  Yes a bad choice for implant.. 
  Yes too short a neck cut
  Yes total hip replacement was required...
  But now......
  As this is not a Modular stem u need to redo the whole procedure ... Patient counselling would b an issue 
  
  I can appreciate some erosion on the lateral aspect of the femur in internal rotation view... ????

  Ali Öner Don't worry about the neck cut. If you draw a line from center of the head horizontally, you see it passes at t. Major level.
  
  Cause of the pain is certainly not the wrong neck cut placement!!!
